AI Policy

Our Stance on AI

Elysian Scripts is a platform built by writers, for writers. We believe in the power of human creativity — the messy drafts, the midnight rewrites, the spark of inspiration that no algorithm can replicate.

At the same time, we recognise that AI tools have become part of many writers' workflows. A grammar checker, a translation aid, a research assistant — these tools can enhance the writing process without replacing the writer's voice.

Our principle is simple: AI as a tool is welcome. AI as the author is not.

What's Allowed

  • Grammar & Spelling: Using AI to check grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Translation: Using AI to translate your work or assist with multilingual elements
  • Proofreading: Using AI to catch errors and improve readability
  • Fact-checking: Using AI for research and verifying factual details
  • Brainstorming: Using AI to bounce ideas for plot, outlines, or world-building
  • Cover Art: Using AI-generated images for covers (with disclosure)

What's Not Allowed

  • Fully AI-generated stories: Works where the majority of prose is written by AI
  • AI-written chapters: Submitting AI output as your own writing
  • Undisclosed AI content: Using AI significantly without transparency

The line between "assistance" and "authorship" can be blurry. When in doubt, disclose. Our community values honesty above perfection.

AI Disclosure System

When publishing a work, you can indicate which aspects of your writing process involved AI tools. This is voluntary but strongly encouraged. Available categories:

Grammar & Spelling Check
Translation
Proofreading & Editing
Fact-checking & Research
Plot & Outline Assistance
Dialogue Writing
Descriptions & World-building
Cover Art & Images

Disclosed AI usage appears on your work's page as a transparency badge. It's a sign of integrity, not a mark of shame.

Enforcement

We trust our community. This policy is enforced through:

  • Community flags: Readers can flag works they suspect are fully AI-generated
  • Moderator review: Flagged works are reviewed by our moderation team
  • Graduated response: First offence = warning, repeat = temporary restriction, persistent = account suspension

We're not here to police every word. We're here to foster a community where human creativity is valued, supported, and celebrated — with transparency as the foundation.
